About Me

I attended Hatfield Polytechnic (now University). There I studied for an HND in computer science. The course contained an industrial placement which I spent at S.P.L. (a software house) and after completing my studies I was offered a job at and sent me to Sweden.

After the completion of the project I decided to seek a job back in the UK and joined OSL (part of the Wings group) to specialize working on PC’s. In this position I worked on projects for both internal departments in OSL and for external customers. OSL was taken over by Rank Travel who proceeded to rationalize the company. I took redundancy and joined U.D.T.

With U.D.T. I was part of a team who were tasked with creating and installing a credit score system in their network of branches.

Part of my job with OSL involved working with a team of psychologists and I was approached to help them setting up a computerized system for psychometric testing. I became self employed to work as a consultant.

The psychologist firm was taken over by a large company. As the psychometric project had been completed it was decided that the support would be taken over by the new parent company’s IT department.

I next found employment with a local company Diazone. They had developed a software product for opticians. This product was well received by opticians. As Diazone was primarily a technical documentation company they sold the product on to a third party. I then found a job with Marketing File.

With Marketing File (Wise and Loveys) I was tasked with creating both CD-ROM’s and web sites for external customers. When Marketing file re-organized and stopped external worked I accepted redundancy and re-entered self employment. With permission of Marketing File I approached the customers who I had been supporting a to take on as clients.
